About Us

The International Dobermann Club is a voluntary association of clubs and societies for Dobermanns, for the purpose of harmonizing their regulations for breeding, training and preserving this breed. Founded in 1978 by the then Presidents of the DV, IDC Honorary President Hans Wiblishauser, and the President of the French Dobermann Club, Mr. Francois Striby, the IDC today has more than 39 member countries from many parts of the world, including North America, South America, South-East Asia, Japan, England, and almost all European countries.

Two events are held annually under the auspices of the IDC. The increasing participation in these events is a sign of their popularity and shows the high reputation. At the Siegershow, held in conjunction with the annual Congress, the IDC enjoys high entry numbers. The IDC World Work Championship also enjoys increasing popularity.

This wide range of countries proves that the IDC is truly international. Contacts and connections established across borders as well as cultural and linguistic barriers not only contribute to the progress of our Doberman, but also promote international understanding, goodwill and friendships among the different people and cultures of our world.
